Community Built Playgrounds
Success Story #321
Space Coast Early Intervention Center Playground
"Boundless Fun"

Melbourne, Florida
Summer 1999
70 percent of the kids who attend preschool at the Space Coast Early Intervention Center (SCEIC) in Melbourne, Florida have special needs. Kids with special needs, however, are exactly like all children when it comes to the need for play.

Thanks to 150 volunteer friends of theirs, SCEIC students now enjoy a colorful, challenging, exciting Landscape Structures playground designed to accommodate their special abilities. This Boundless Playgrounds installation capped off a remarkable collaborative effort by the SCEIC, parents and local and national organizations to provide safe play for these kids.

Success Story #212
A Tempest in a Teapot
Volunteers build a modern park system in their small town
Lindstrom, Minnesota
Spring 2001
Less than an hour's drive from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Lindstrom, Minnesota is a small town abundant with small town charm. (Just check out the teapot-shaped water tower!) It's also poised for big-time growth in the next few decades, and the people who live there knew they needed a park system to meet their increasing recreational needs.

After visiting established playgrounds in the area, Lindstrom residents were impressed with the durability and quality of Landscape Structures playground equipment. When it came time to upgrade their park system, they turned to their local LSI representative, E.F. Andersen, to help plan and organize their Community Build projects.
