We're searching for play areas that stimulate children's imaginations and encourage them to challenge their abilities. Our panel of judges will critique your play area design using the following criteria:
- The use of the equipment in relationship to the site.
- The integration of play elements – water, gardens and sand – as well as areas for social, physical and dramatic play.
- Play value – providing opportunities for challenge, interaction and adventure.
- How the play area fits within the surrounding environment, including circulation, shade, play equipment selection, accessibility, safety surfacing and containment, adjacent seating and other site furnishings.
- The creativity shown in meeting a unique challenge – for example, developing a theme area within a small space, building the play area into a challenging landscape, such as a hill or rooftop, or any circumstances which the entrant believes would deem the installation exceptional.
